Obtaining Los Angeles Bail Bonds

Bail is the money the defendant pays to remain out of jail until trial. If the defendant does not show for trial, bail is forfeited. There are several types of bail. First, a defendant can be released on their own recognizance. Second, unsecured bail can be set. Finally, there is cash-only bond or secured bail.

For secured bail, the bail money must be secured in the form of property or cash before the defendant is released. If the defendant cannot afford it, he or she can have a bail bondsman post it on their behalf. Fees can start at 10% of the bail. The bail bond fee is nonrefundable. If the defendant does not show for all appearances, bail may be forfeited. More info: Los Angeles Bail Bonds
