Learning In The Nations Captial

A class trip to the nation’s capital, Washington D.C., is great and exciting chance for students to learn about history, government, politics, and art – all within a short area a walking distance. The Smithsonian Institution, along with the various memorials throughout the area provides a huge spectrum of potential learning sites. Additionally, there always seems to be new museums and memorials being built on a regular basis, so even multiple trips provide new experiences.

The recent Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial is probably one of the best places to start – especially during the month of February to celebrate Black History Month. The Smithsonian Institution has over 13 different galleries and museums that are free to the public as well. There certainly is no shortage of things to do or see in D.C.
